Lido Pimienta charges extra for diversity. Subversive make-up tutorials from Megan MacKay. Cult 60s prairie rock psychedelia and Guillaume Morrissette reads his own worst reviews.

Here are the show’s featured artists, in order of appearance:

Lido Pimienta is a singer, songwriter, and visual artist from Baranquilla, Colombia. Her highly-anticipated follow up album, La Papessa has been artfully remixed, and can be listened to here. @LidoPimienta

Expedition to Earth was a Winnipeg garage-psych band that toured heavily throughout the Prairies in the mid 60s, released only one 45, and broke up. Their record became a coveted collectors item for fuzz-heads, fetching over $1000 for original copies on eBay, a fact discovered by Darcie, the wife of guitarist Dan Norton. Fifty years after disbanding, Darcie and Dan have teamed up to form a new band, The Expedition, and are actively playing with a new record coming out soon.

Megan MacKay is a Toronto-based comedian who makes funny YouTube videos, including her breakout satire, Ray Rice Inspired Makeup Tutorial. She has been featured on Buzzfeed, Jezebel, and most notably, Elizabeth Banks’s new female-centric comedy site, WhoHaHa (like Funny or Die, but for women). @mmmegan

Nancy Pants is a Montreal garage-pop band. The band was conceived when founding members Ohara Hale and Adam Waito were on a road trip to a comic book convention. Listen to their irresistible, blissed-out dirty pop here. @nancypants4ever

Guillaume Morissette is the author of New Tab (Véhicule Press, 2014), which was a finalist for the 2015 Amazon.ca First Novel Award. His work has appeared in Maisonneuve Magazine, Little Brother Magazine, Vice, Electric Literature, The Quietus and many other publications. @anxietyissue

Contributors: Jesse Locke is a writer and editor based in Toronto. He has worked for publications such as Weird Canada and AUX and recently wrote his first book, a biography of Simply Saucer out this fall from Eternal Cavalier Press. When he’s not writing, he plays the drums for Century Palm, Tough Age, and Chandra. @wipeoutbeat
